THIS year’s Christian Aid week raised more than £4,750 with collections taking place in Liphook, Bramshott, Conford and Passfield.

The popular annual coffee morning raised £960 and an additional Big Brekkie event made £235, which helped to boost overall figures.

The money will go to help some of the poorest people in the world, including families who scrape a living on the flood plains of the Brahmaputra river. 

Christian Aid’s focus this year has been on those who cultivate the islands in the delta.

For a relatively modest sum their small holdings can be raised above the flood level, which changes lives dramatically when they feel safe in their homes and secure in cultivating their crops.
