CHILDREN at Brookham School in Liphook always enjoy being involved in charity events and every year Children in Need is one of their favourites.
This year they raised £270 for the annual BBC cause.
The school in Highfield Lane held a “mufti day” last Friday where in exchange for a £1 donation children could come to school dressed in any clothes they wanted to wear.
Throughout the day there were a number of fun fundraising events, including “Pennies for Pudsey”, where the challenge was to fill a cardboard cutout version of Pudsey Bear with coins, as well as a competition to guess the weight of a giant pumpkin that had been grown in the school garden.
Churcher’s College Junior School children raised £327.43 for the annual appeal, which is their chosen charity of the year.
Everyone, including the teachers at the school in Midhurst Road, Liphook, joined in the fun.
They held a pyjama and teddy bear day as well as organising an assembly with the theme of childhood heroes while learning about the fun of fundraising.
Hollycombe School children entered into the fundraising spirit for Children In Need and collected £175 by dressing up in their pyjamas.
Pupils and teachers were very excited to see Pudsey Bear and spend some fun time with him - all for a good cause – at the school in Wardley Green.
