INDEPENDENT charity Rushmoor Healthy Living will be offering free NHS health checks to people attending the New Directions event at Alton College next month.

Hosted by East Hampshire MP Damian Hinds, and expected to attract people from across East Hampshire and the Surrey border, visitors to the free one-day event on Tuesday, April 11 – that brings together employment, training and volunteering opportunities for the over-50s – will be able to hear from a range of speakers, including individuals who have changed direction, or taken on a new challenge, later in life.

In addition, they will offered free NHS health checks to include tests for blood pressure, cholesterol, height, weight and heart health.

As a dementia-friendly ambassador, Mr Hinds has also announced that he is running a free Dementia Friends information session during the afternoon, and places for this can be reserved in advance atdementiafriends.org.uk, or booked at reception on the day.
