NOT even severe hurricane warnings could dampen spirits or deter thousands of revellers, who came to watch the 112th Liphook Carnival on Saturday.
Amid fears it might be the last-ever Liphook Carnival, committee chairman Karen Feeney said: "I am delighted to report that the future of the Liphook Carnival is secure!
"Following our recent appeal the Carnival committee was struggling and that the future was in crisis, we have now recruited two new members and have potentially five more that want to come along and join our next meeting.
"This is tremendous news and we are very much hoping that next year's Carnival will be much easier for us all to organise as well as all the fund-raising events we hold throughout the year."
As rain and strong winds held off on the night – families from Liphook and it community groups again surpassed themselves by putting on another spectacular show, watched by an audience of more than 3,500 – and dubbed by many as the best in many a year.
