AFTER running one of Liphook’s biggest events for the last 10 years, Karen Feeney has finally decided to call it a day as carnvial organiser.
She will be officially stepping down as chairman at the committee’s annual general meeting on March 8 and hopes to hand over the reigns to a new volunteer with new ideas.
Karen, who has just taken on the management of the Triangle Centre in Liss, said: “Hopefully, people will understand the reasons behind my decision and agree that it is time for fresh blood and new ideas.
“It would be great to update the website and to find somebody from the village who has been sitting quietly waiting for the opportunity to run the Carnival.
She added: “I am happy to stay on the committee and be involved, but I no longer want the responsibility that goes with being the chair.”
The committee needs requests by organisations and clubs for the money raised by last year’s carnival, which have to be made in writing, because the organisation is becoming a registered charity.
E-mails can be sent to [email protected] and letters to 41 Shepherds Way, Liphook, Hampshire GU30 7HF.
The carnival committee annual meeting is due to take place at the Peak Centre, on Midhurst Road, on Wednesday, March 8, at 8pm.
