AN overturned car caused a half-mile tailback on the A3 southbound near Petersfield today.

The emergency services were called to the scene of the accident, which happened around 9.30am in foggy conditions and saw traffic backed up close to the Ham Barn roundabout.

The stricken car, which was on its roof, was believed to be a red Ford.
