Liphook Food Bank took delivery of an “incredible haul” of toys from a big-hearted cargo and freight company just days before Christmas to hand out to the struggling families it supports.

Bordon-based MWT Ltd loaned one its lorries to Liphook Girl Guides for its entry in September’s Liphook Carnival, and also took part in Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children last month.

Its latest charity endeavour saw the company scoop Liphook Food Bank’s weekly ‘local heroes’ award for delivering a sack full of Christmas pressies (pictured) to the charity on December 20.

“It’s hugely appreciated,” said a food bank spokesman.

Liphook Food Bank regularly runs short of UHT milk, soup and meals in a tin. Donation points can be found on their website or Facebook page.
