LIPHOOK'S "workingclass hero" Kevin Adair was left homeless and without a livelihood after flames engulfed the roof of The Green Dragon pub, last Thursday, causing major damage to the 16th century building.

Kevin had a lucky escape after being woken up by an early delivery on Thursday morning.

Both he and his new puppy, a mountain dog, escaped the blaze, but he was left in shock by the severity of the fire.

After taking over the historic pub in 2011, the former boss of Liphook United FC has been working hard to refurbish it and turning it into a popular meeting place.

But fire gutted the building in less than 30 minutes.
