BIRDWORLD has been buzzing with activity recently as the park once again launches it Summer of Fun by hosting extra activities for visitors every weekday of the summer holiday.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Birdworld will be hosting entertainment sessions with performers from Chubby’s World of Magic or special entertainer, Crazee Hazee.

While on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the Birdworld keepers will be holding Animal Extra talks, which will include a session on the park’s very own flamboyance of Greater Flamingos and their newly born chicks.

From magic acts to balloon modelling and mind-blowing facts there will be something for everyone at Birdworld this summer.

This week Birdworld has been hosting Minibeast Safari Week. The event is linked with the national initiative ‘Big Bug Bonanza’ run by BIAZA (British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums) to raise awareness of the importance of invertebrate life in ecosystems and to encourage positive behaviours towards invertebrates.

The activities will include all manner of slithering and crawling critters, bug-themed arts and crafts, a creepy crawly activity trail and lots more.

Mark Anderson, park general manager at Birdworld, said: “The summer is one of our favourite times at the park as there is so much happening.

“We’re very excited to welcome back our entertainers and look forward to enjoying these shows on the Safari Lawn with our visitors.

“The park’s keepers are also very excited to be hosting animal extra talks to educate and entertain visitors of all ages about some of the fascinating and mysterious birds and animals that call Birdworld home.”

Open 10am until 6pm, last admissions are an hour before closing. Daily activities, crafts and face painting will run between 11am to 4pm each day.
