HASLEMERE Town Band helped raise the roof at a Big and Brassy concert in Aldershot, which raised £2,456 for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care.

The town band played with Basingstoke Silver Band, Farnham Brass Band, Sandhurst Community Brass, Almac Bisley Brass Band, Breakaway Brass and Cove Brass.

“There were 70 players on stage for the concert, with conductor Paul Speed and soloist euphonium player Charley Brighton,” said band member Sandra Margetts.

“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the Princes’s Hall, Aldershot, is already booked for Big and Brassy 2 on April 15 next year.”

Members of the band are pictured handing over a cheque to the Farnham-based hospice.
