AN appeal has been made by the owners of a property in Chiltlee Close, after it was refused planning permission by East Hampshire District Council last November.

Planning officers stated the proposed scale of the two-storey side extension and conversion of roof space with dormer windows, after demolition of an existing garage, would result in an overbearing form of development, have a significant effect on natural light and would adversely affect living conditions of the owners of the neighbouring property on the corner of the Close and Haslemere Road.

Architect Adrian Bird, on behalf of Mr and Mrs Knowles, pointed out that houses in Chiltlee Close are not of great architecture and a similar “lined-through” extension has been built onto the house next door in the close.
