PLANNING decisions could soon be made by a single committee of 12 councillors if the proposal is approved by East Hampshire District Council.

The new system would encourage consistency of decision-making, greater contribution from ward councillors and would be a more efficient use of staff.

Previously all councillors sat on one of two planning committees, with one handling the northern parishes and one the south.
