A PLANNING application to open an abattoir specialising in poultry at Passfield has been withdrawn after a large number of objections.
An application to change the of use of part of an existing building from storage to plucking and meat preparation, on land north of Wey Cottage, Tunbridge Lane, met with fierce opposition.
At last month's Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council's planning meeting, a group of angry residents had prepared a statement of objections against the proposal, which councillors also unanimously turned down.
They feared the potential for a significant slaughterhouse and meat production, in the River Way Conservation Area, with consequent increase in noise, pollution and traffic access.
