THE 78-year-old woman who died following a collision with a coach on the A3, near Longmoor, last Monday, has been named.
Gladys Steadman, 78, of Lark Rise, Liphook, was driving a blue Volkswagen Polo along the southbound carriageway on the A3, at 4.55pm, when her car was in collision with a National Express coach.
Mrs Steadman was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham, but died from her injuries. The passenger in the car, a 12-year-old girl, who has not been named, was unhurt.
One of the 29 passengers on the 52-seater coach suffered whiplash injuries but the remainder were uninjured.
The coach driver, a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death through careless or inconsiderate driving. He has been released on bail until November 30 pending further enquiries.
