TWO men have been arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault in Farnham on Sunday, December 9.

The offence happened at 12.50am when a woman was assaulted by two men outside Farnham Library.

Officers appealed for further witnesses on Saturday and released CCTV images of two men they wanted to talk to in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Adam Tatton from the Sexual Offences Investigation Team said: “I hope it is reassuring to the community of Farnham that we have made arrests in connection with this investigation.

“We understand the impact a crime like this can have on a community and would like to thank the public for their understanding and patience.

“We’ve had a great response following the appeal with CCTV images at the weekend which has played a part in progressing the investigation.

“It’s important for the public to realise that we are still appealing for information about this incident and need anyone who saw a number of men with the victim, or the victim between the hours of 11.30pm on December 8 and 1am on December 9.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and are currently in custody.
