CCTV footage of a recent ram raid in Lindford - in which a cash machine was ripped from a shop wall - has been posted online, as police continue to investigate the theft.

Just after 2.20am on Sunday, January 28, offenders used a telehandler tractor to smash part of a wall at the village’s Spar store.

In the video, the perpetrators can be seen hauling the ATM out of the building.

The cash machine, installed less than a week beforehand, was then driven away on the back of a dark-coloured pick-up vehicle.

The telehandler, which belonged to Mayfair Farm Riding Stables, was stolen earlier that night from Churt Road, Headley. The burglars abandoned it at the scene of the crime.

Spar owner Julian Taylor-Green said that the raid was carried out with “such ferocity” it damaged the roof, left internal walls “structurally unsafe” and will likely cost many thousands of pounds to repair.

This week a Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said there was no update on the case, with the appeal for witnesses still active.

Detective Constable Jo Martindale has urged anyone with any information about the raid, or the theft of the telehandler, to come forward.

Anyone with information about the incidents should call Hampshire Police on 101, quoting reference number 44180036125.
