LIPHOOK Fire and Rescue was called out to two car-related incidents last weekend due to the heavy snowfall across the area.

On Friday evening, around 5pm, they arrived at the bottom of Rake Hill on the old A3 where a motorist had collided with a woman walking along the pavement after he was unable to stop his car. Nobody was hurt and the car was moved safely from the road.

Another incident on Saturday evening, again around 5pm, involved an overturned car near the Tunbridge Lane and Church Lane junction, close to the house which once belonged to Boris Karloff. The driver escaped inhurt and the car was recovered.
